The <strong>boiler stays the same<\/strong>, only the combustion mechanism changes. Modern condensing oil boilers are <strong>not suitable<\/strong> for pellet, because the combustion chamber is designed for a liquid fuel and creates &#8220;thirsty&#8221; spots in a pellet flame.<\/p>\n<h3>The chimney needs a check<\/h3>\n<p>Pellet produces flue gas at lower temperatures than oil (~150\u00b0C vs 200 to 250\u00b0C). If the chimney is oversized or uninsulated, condensation forms, and over time creates buildup inside the flue.<\/p>\n<h3>The auger must be sized correctly<\/h3>\n<p>For a silo-to-burner distance > 2m an intermediate auger is needed.
