Metal
Galvanizing
Hot-dip galvanizing to EN ISO 1461 and electrogalvanizing to EN ISO 2081. The method is selected according to your specification, for maximum corrosion protection or aesthetic finish.
Corrosion
Protection of Steel
Metal galvanizing is the most effective method of corrosion protection for steel. Zinc coating, either through hot-dip galvanizing or electrolytically, protects the metal from oxidation, rust, moisture and atmospheric corrosion for decades, with zero maintenance.
At Axinar, Thessaloniki, we deliver galvanized structures according to the specifications of each project. Depending on requirements, we select hot-dip galvanizing to EN ISO 1461 for maximum service life, or electrogalvanizing to EN ISO 2081 for an aesthetic finish. We work with a certified galvanizing plant in Northern Greece.
We handle galvanizing of structures of every type: galvanizing of frames, galvanizing of photovoltaic mounting systems, lighting pole supports, canopies, carports and industrial galvanized metal components. We accept parts up to 600 kg in weight and 8 metres in length, including pre-galvanized material or material shipped from third parties for steel galvanizing.
How it works: after fabrication is complete (cutting, press brake, welding, deburring), the part is transported to the galvanizing plant. In hot-dip galvanizing, the steel is chemically cleaned (acid pickling), immersed in molten zinc at 450°C and develops a metallurgical zinc-iron bond with a coating thickness of 45–85 µm. In electrogalvanizing, the coating is applied electrolytically in a controlled bath. After galvanizing, every part is inspected visually and with coating thickness measurement before delivery.
Metal Galvanizing:
Hot-Dip vs Electrogalvanizing
Hot-Dip Galvanizing
Immersion in molten zinc at 450°C. Creates a zinc-iron alloy, not just a coating, but a metallurgical bond.
- Thickness 45–85 µm of zinc
- Maximum corrosion protection (decades)
- Ideal for outdoor metal structures
- Frames, photovoltaic supports, carports
- Lighting poles, canopies, fencing
- Resistance to industrial & marine environments
Electrogalvanizing
Electrolytic zinc coating. Uniform, smooth layer with a better aesthetic finish.
- Thickness 5–25 µm of zinc
- Uniform, smooth surface
- Better aesthetic finish
- Ideal for small galvanized metal components & screws
- Indoor applications, controlled environments, decorative parts
Advantages
of Metal Galvanizing
Long-Term Protection
Metal galvanizing protects steel for decades with no maintenance, even in outdoor, industrial or marine environments. Service life exceeds 50 years in an urban environment.
To Specification
Galvanizing to EN ISO 1461 (hot-dip) or EN ISO 2081 (electrogalvanizing). The method is selected according to your requirements and the application.
Complete Fabrication
Laser cutting, press brake, welding, deburring, galvanizing — one point of contact, one finished product ready for installation.
Competitive Cost
The price of metal galvanizing depends on the method, weight and dimensions. With zero maintenance, the lifecycle cost of galvanizing is 2–6× lower than painting.
Photovoltaics & Outdoor
Galvanizing of photovoltaic mounting systems, carports, frames, canopies — everything exposed to UV, rain and salt spray.
Fast Delivery
Metal galvanizing is integrated into the production timeline. We coordinate transport to the galvanizing plant without delays.
