Agrivoltaic East West
Ground-mount solar tracking system with dual East–West orientation. S350GD steel with Magnelis coating, 25° tilt, maximum table length 80m. Ideal for agricultural land with dual land use.
The Agrivoltaic East West system by Axinar combines solar energy generation with agricultural activity on the same land area. With dual East–West orientation, panels are installed in pairs at opposing 25° tilts, ensuring uniform energy production throughout the entire day.
The East-West configuration allows denser panel placement with reduced inter-row shading, greater utilisation of available land, and a smoother production curve — with peaks in the morning and afternoon rather than only at midday. Open corridors between rows allow agricultural machinery access and uninterrupted farming.
Foundation is by driven pile (ramming) with no concrete required and minimal ground disturbance. S350GD steel with Magnelis or hot-dip galvanising provides maximum corrosion resistance in agricultural environments — fertilisers, moisture, and saline soils.
The system is designed and manufactured entirely in-house at the Axinar production facility in Thessaloniki, Greece. Every component — from the S350GD purlins to the Magnelis-coated piles — is produced under ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certified processes. Each project is accompanied by a free structural analysis per Eurocodes (EN 1991 for loads, EN 1993 for steel structures, EN 1998 for seismic action), signed and stamped by a certified civil engineer.
The East-West agrivoltaic system supports both monofacial and bifacial panels. Bifacial modules in this configuration capture reflected light from the ground between rows, increasing total energy yield by 5–15% depending on ground albedo and local conditions. Combined with a maximum table length of 80 metres and modular connectors, deployment at MW scale is fast and cost-effective.
Driven Pile Foundation
Fast, cost-effective foundation without concrete — ideal for agricultural land.
Ramming (Driven Piles)
Steel piles are driven directly into the ground using a hydraulic pile driver, with no excavation or concrete required. The method is fast, cost-effective, and fully reversible — at end of life, piles are extracted without leaving any residue.
Terrain Adaptability
The structure adapts to uneven terrain without the need for land levelling. Each pile embedment depth is adjusted independently to compensate for slopes and irregularities — minimal disturbance to agricultural land.
Simultaneous agricultural farming and solar energy generation on the same land.
East-West dual orientation for uniform production from morning to afternoon.
Maximum table length of 80m — fewer piles, faster installation.
Magnelis / Hot-dip galvanised protection for 25+ years of durability in agricultural environments.

The Advantages
Uniform Production
East-West dual orientation with morning and afternoon peaks — smoother curve, less curtailment, more stable grid contribution.
Agricultural Continuity
Open corridors between rows for machinery access, irrigation, and cultivation without any change to farming practices.
Denser Placement
The 25° tilt and opposing orientation reduce inter-row shading, allowing greater installed capacity per unit area.
Fast Installation
Driven piles with no concrete, 80m table length, modular design — MW-scale deployment in minimal time.
Fully Reversible
Piles are extracted at end of life — the land is returned to its original state with zero footprint.
Magnelis Protection
ZnAlMg technology with 2–4× greater corrosion resistance — ideal for agricultural and coastal environments.
East-West vs South-Facing Orientation
Why the dual East-West configuration outperforms traditional south-facing layouts for agrivoltaic applications.
| Feature | East-West | South-Facing |
|---|---|---|
| Production curve | Smooth — morning & afternoon peaks | Sharp midday peak |
| Panel density per m² | Higher — reduced shading | Lower — wider row spacing |
| Agricultural access | Open corridors for machinery | Limited access |
| Bifacial gain | +5–15% | +3–8% |
| Grid curtailment risk | Low | Higher at midday |
| Land use efficiency | Dual — energy + farming | Single use |
