Vertical PV mounting systems Axinar - agrivoltaic bifacial panel installation on farmland
Agrivoltaic Vertical Mounting Systems

Vertical PV Mounting Systems

Vertical PV mounting systems by Axinar for agrivoltaic installations with bifacial panels. Dual land use, 95% free for farming, S320GD steel with Magnelis® protection for 25+ years.

95% Free Land

Vertical panels cover just 5% of the surface — agricultural machinery moves freely between rows.

Bifacial Technology

Solar irradiance utilised from both panel faces for smooth morning and afternoon generation.

Free Structural Analysis

Every project includes a Eurocode-compliant structural analysis, signed by a certified engineer.

Vertical PV mounting systems (agrivoltaics) are an innovative sustainable development solution combining agriculture with clean energy generation. Bifacial panels are mounted vertically, East–West orientation, in rows spaced 5.5 to 10 metres apart depending on latitude and crop type.

The defining characteristic of vertical PV mounting is that it covers just 5% of the land area — significantly less than conventional solutions. 95% of the plot remains fully available for farming.

Axinar designs and manufactures vertical PV mounting systems in-house at its own 4,000 m² production facility, certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Every agrivoltaic project includes a project-specific structural analysis per Eurocodes, signed by a certified structural engineer.

Beyond vertical PV mounting systems, Axinar also manufactures mounting structures for ground-mount solar parks and flat roofs.

Vertical Mount Advantages

Dual Land Use

With vertical PV mounting systems, farming continues normally between rows — cereals, forage crops, herbs and vegetables grow without restriction. Ideal for smaller plots that could not benefit from conventional tilted systems under agrivoltaic programmes.

Bifacial Yield

Bifacial solar panels capture irradiance from both faces, producing two energy peaks (morning and afternoon) that complement the midday peak of conventional tilted systems, smoothing out the overall generation curve.

Wind Load

The single-pile structure provides maximum resistance to extreme weather. Designed per Eurocodes EN 1991-1-4 (wind), EN 1991-1-3 (snow) and EN 1998 (seismic), with a project-specific structural analysis for every installation.

Maintenance

Easy access for maintenance, panel cleaning and grass cutting along rows. Simple repowering with next-generation panel upgrades without changing the structure — protecting your original investment for 25+ years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about Axinar vertical PV mounting systems.

Agrivoltaics are systems that combine farming with solar energy generation on the same plot. Vertical bifacial panels are placed in rows with an East–West orientation, leaving 95% of the land free for cultivation. The technology is growing rapidly across Europe as a solution for dual use of agricultural land.
Vertical mounting minimises land coverage (just 5%) and enables bifacial panels that generate from both faces. The dual-peak curve (morning–afternoon) complements the midday peak of conventional tilted systems, smoothing grid demand throughout the day.
Spacing ranges from 5.5 to 10 metres, depending on latitude, crop type and shading requirements. The design is based on shading analysis and ensures free movement of agricultural machinery — tractors, harvesters and sprayers — between rows.
Yes, vertical systems are designed specifically for bifacial panels. The vertical East–West orientation maximises irradiance capture from both faces, significantly increasing overall energy yield compared to monofacial panels.
Absolutely. Vertical systems are ideal for smaller plots (even under 1 hectare) that could not benefit from conventional tilted agrivoltaic programmes, as land coverage is limited to just 5%.
Yes. Systems are designed per Eurocodes for wind load (EN 1991-1-4), snow load (EN 1991-1-3) and seismic action (EN 1998). The single-pile structure provides maximum resistance to extreme events. Every project includes a project-specific structural analysis signed by a certified engineer.
After order confirmation and advance payment, we can deliver up to 1 MW per week. The process includes structural analysis, manufacturing at our facility and shipping. Exact timing depends on the complexity and scale of the project.
Vertical agrivoltaic systems are compatible with a wide range of crops: cereals, forage, herbs, vegetables, vineyards and fruit trees. Row spacing is adjusted based on each crop's light requirements.
