Using cables to transfer solar energy from the photovoltaic panels to the roof, the SolBox harnesses this energy to heat the water in the boiler

You also need
- The water heater. The SolBox works with any electric water heater, tanks above 150 litres are recommended
- DC cable of 4 mm² or 6 mm², depending on the distance to the panels, available from Axinar
- Installation by an electrician or a plumber

How many panels you need
Self-powering covers up to 2 panels in series or 2 + 2. Beyond that the 12 V / 3 W supply included in the box is used.

The SolBox is not a solar water heater. It uses solar energy to heat the water in the electric water heater you already have. It takes the current from the photovoltaic panels, conditions it and feeds it to the heating element of the tank. No inverter and no plumbing work are needed.
Any electric water heater. Tanks above 150 litres are recommended. The existing heating element usually works, and if it does not match the requirements of the SolBox the output is reduced until it is replaced.
Any panel from 450 W to 720 W, with no restriction on brand or type. Between 2 and 6 panels, depending on tank size and how much of the year you want it to cover.
The system delivers as much energy as it can and the rest is topped up automatically by the alternative source, a boiler or the grid. You do not switch valves and you do not change any setting.
No. The SolBox stops transferring energy as soon as the water reaches the temperature you set, so there is no boiling, no tank wear and no cracked enamel.
About 40% less than a conventional solar system. There are no fluids, no heavy tank to lift onto the roof tiles and no pipework, only cabling.
No. The SolBox is not connected to the utility grid, it runs purely on its own panels.
A 10 year warranty and an estimated service life of 25 years. It is designed and built in Greece, so the board is repaired by us.
