HOW IT WORKS

How an automatic pellet boiler works

The pellet boiler operates with full automation: pellets are stored in an external silo (or a built-in bunker in the case of the Calos) and are automatically transferred via a screw conveyor to the combustion chamber. The burner handles ignition, while the electronic control unit continuously adjusts temperature, air supply and fuel quantity.
Automatic grate cleaning and ash removal ensure continuous operation without daily intervention. Pellet heating achieves over 90% efficiency thanks to multiple flue gas passes and a turbo heat exchanger.

    Frequently asked questions about pellet boilers

    What pellet boiler output do I need?
    The range covers 20 to 150 kW, from a house to an industrial building. The correct output depends on floor area, insulation and climate zone. Send us the details of the space and we will propose a model.
    What does the PelletWork system include?
    It is the complete solution: the Pelit boiler, an Apoplim or Tsovea burner, the external Auger feed screw and the Abar pellet tank, for continuous automatic feeding with no intervention. If you only need the boiler, PELIT is sold separately and works with any compatible pellet burner.
    My boiler room is small, what are my options?
    Calos is an all-in-one unit of 8 to 32 kW with automatic cleaning and minimal space requirements. No separate burner or external tank is needed, so installation is simpler where space is the binding constraint.
    How much cheaper is it than oil?
    Pellets cost up to 50% less than heating oil and the price is more predictable. The actual saving depends on local supply prices and on how efficiently the system is installed.
    Does it run on its own?
    Feeding, ignition, temperature control and self-cleaning are automatic, with no manual intervention. What determines how often you attend to it is the pellet tank size relative to the heating load, which is why the tank is selected together with the boiler.
    What pellet quality is required?
    Pellets are graded ENplus A1, A2 and B, with A1 the highest grade. They are produced from sawdust and wood flour under high pressure with no additives, typically 6 mm in diameter. The grade directly affects ash volume and cleaning frequency.
