Short answer

Axinar manufactures custom sheet metal enclosures, electrical cabinets and machine housings to customer drawings. Panels are laser cut at ±0.1 mm and bent at ±0.1° with laser angle measurement, PEM inserts and rivet nuts from M3 to M8 are fitted before coating, and powder coating is applied in-house at 60 to 120 µm in any RAL colour.

An enclosure is judged on fit, not on the flat pattern

Any shop can cut the panels of a cabinet. The parts that decide whether your assembly line runs are the ones nobody quotes: whether the door gap is even along its whole length, whether the PEM nuts sit square so the standoffs do not fight the PCB, whether the paint is inside the threads, whether the second batch is identical to the first.

We build enclosures the way the drawing intends. Panels are laser cut at ±0.1 mm and bent on CNC press brakes with laser angle measurement that compensates springback in real time, so the first box is as square as the thousandth. Self-clinching inserts, rivet nuts, stud welds and helicoils are fitted before coating and masked during it. Seams that will be visible are welded and ground, and for thin sheet we use handheld laser welding, which leaves almost nothing to grind.

Coating is ours: sandblasting and phosphating, GEMA electrostatic application, oven curing at 180 to 200 °C, 60 to 120 µm in the full RAL range, Qualicoat and Qualisteelcoat processes. For outdoor enclosures we work in galvanized sheet, stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized steel to EN ISO 1461.

Details that change an enclosure price

Enclosures are the product family where a short note in the RFQ saves the most money. These are the six that move the number the most.

  • Which seams are visible, because ground-and-filled seams cost real time
  • Flatness and gap requirements on doors and covers, stated as a number, not as good quality
  • Insert list, thread sizes and positions, and whether threads must be paint free
  • RAL number and gloss level, inside and outside, and whether the inside stays raw
  • Assembly level, flat pack, welded body only, or fully assembled with hardware fitted
  • Batch and call-off plan, since enclosures nest far better when quantities are known

Frequently asked questions

Can you work from a 3D model without drawings?

Yes for the geometry, but an enclosure almost always needs a short specification next to the model: the RAL colour, which threads must stay clean, what the door gap has to be, and what is assembled before shipping. Send the model and a one-page note and we will fill in the rest with questions.

Do you supply IP-rated enclosures?

We build to your specification, including gasket channels, continuous sealed welds, lapped roofs and drip edges. Where you need a rating verified, specify the target IP class and the test in the RFQ so the design and the test are quoted together, rather than assumed.

Can you fit hardware, gaskets and glass?

Yes. Hinges, locks, gas springs, gaskets, glass, mounting plates and cable glands are fitted in the assembly cell, either from components you supply or bought to your approved vendor list.

What is the smallest enclosure order you take?

A single prototype cabinet is normal work, it runs on the same machines as series production. If you expect a series afterwards, say so at RFQ stage, because we then design the tooling and the flat patterns for the series rather than for the one-off.

Do you coat both sides and mask threads?

Both sides is standard unless you tell us the inside stays raw or galvanized. Threads, earthing points, sealing faces and machined datums are masked on request, which should be marked on the drawing or listed in the RFQ.

Can you laser mark serial numbers for traceability?

Yes. Laser marking of serial numbers, part numbers, logos and legends is in-house, and it is what we use to tie a finished unit back to its inspection record on series production.
